Your submitted paragraph:
Mutagenicity and carcinogenesis The majority of chemical carcinogens produce MUTATIONS in DNA. Benzo[a] pyrene, N-acetoxy-2- acetylaminofluorene and aflatoxin B1 cause GC to TAtransversions in bacteria and mammalian cells, although benzo[a]pyrene in particular can produce base substitutions such as AT to TA. N-nitroso compounds cause GC to AT transitions. Alkylation of the O4 position of thymine, which probably also has an important role in tumour initiation induced by N-nitrosoureas, results in TA to CG transitions.
